ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

ur client is seeking to recruit an Assistant Store Manager for their busy Grocery store in Mayo

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Achieve agreed targets set out in the Business Plan and the Balanced Scorecard for the department
  • Maintain the highest possible standard of quality and service in Fresh
  • Achieve margin targets , produce results  to Head Office and Liaise with Head Office for continuous improvement on margins
  • Ensure correct amount of stock is ordered and  Manage stock levels in all fresh departments to ensure wastage is kept to a minimum
  • Carry out weekly, monthly and quarterly stocktakes
  • Print pcoms weekly to ensure you have all information on quality, promotions and price availability
  • Ensure detailed  date checks are carried out daily by department staff
  • Carry out regular inspections to ensure HACCP regulations are adhered to and all documentation is up to date
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies in all aspects of the department  through new ideas and performance enhancing initiatives
  • Ensure all staff adhere to  company rules, policies and procedures  and standards of appearance at all times;
  • Inform staff  of products on promotion and encourage staff to get customers to try new products
  • Ensure excellent customer care is being provided at all times and customer queries and complaints are handled appropriately
  • Promote good working relations and maintain a positive team atmosphere throughout the store

The ideal candidate should possess the following criteria:

  • HACCP & Manual Training
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
  • Experience in people management
