Fresh Food Manager

Our client is seeking to recruit a Fresh Food Manager for their busy Grocery store in Co Mayo

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Achieve agreed targets set out in the Business Plan and the Balanced Scorecard for the department
  • Maintain the highest possible standard of quality and service in Fresh
  • Achieve margin targets , produce results to Head Office and Liaise with Head Office for continuous improvement on margins
  • Ensure correct amount of stock is ordered and Manage stock levels in all fresh departments to ensure wastage is kept to a minimum
  • Carry out weekly, monthly and quarterly stocktakes
  • Print pcoms weekly to ensure you have all information on quality, promotions and price availability
  • Ensure detailed date checks are carried out daily by department staff
  • Carry out regular inspections to ensure HACCP regulations are adhered to and all documentation is up to date
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies in all aspects of the department through new ideas and performance enhancing initiatives
  • Ensure all staff adhere to company rules, policies and procedures and standards of appearance at all times;
  • As Duty Manager, understand and implement all procedures under 90 HR Leadership and assume full responsibility in that role
  • In conjunction with the Store Manager and Ambient Manager ensure Checklists are completed and points actioned
  • Fully implement the Code of Conduct and ensure all staff understand and accept security procedures
  • Implement and manage Fresh Department Rosters to maintain highest standards whilst remaining within wage constraints
  • Attend Trade shows, clusters and training as recommended for the role;
  • Provide the necessary Leadership in the department to drive the business and maximise the output of all people resources
  • Identify training needs for staff in your department and compile and implement relevant training & development plans
  • Complete all Appraisals thoroughly for staff in your department and manage performance issues appropriately
  • Communicate weekly with all staff in your department and be creative in seeking new ideas and providing information to staff
  • Cultivate a constructive challenging dynamic across the Management team which Is performance driven and ensures consistent high standards
  • Maximise the development of others potential so that there is ongoing opportunity for progression for staff in your dept.
  • Demonstrate the Brand Values at all times; Genuine, Inspiring, Vibrant, Committed
  • Inform staff of products on promotion and encourage staff to get customers to try new products
  • Ensure excellent customer care is being provided at all times and customer queries and complaints are handled appropriately
  • Promote good working relations and maintain a positive team atmosphere throughout the store

The ideal candidate should possess the following criteria:

  • Previous management experience in working in similar position 2 – 3 years
  • HACCP & Manual Training
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
  • Experience in people management
