Civil’s Project Engineer (Munster)

Project Engineer – Civils (South West of Ireland)

Our client is looking for a competent, ambitious, professional engineer to take command of a civil’s project in the south of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations and with company health & safety policy on all sites under control
  • Interface with client and supplier designers
  • Issuing Communications/Documents to clients
  • Oversee quality control on site for all aspects of the works
  • Setting out and surveying on site
  • Monitoring and recording progress on site and assisting in updating the works programme
  • Supervising sub-contractor and specialist works on site
  • Managing the setup, compilation and handover documents e.g Inspection & Test Plans, As-Builts
  • Liaising with all members of the site teams to ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, technical and commercial aspects


  • Degree accredited by appropriate institution where necessary. Ability to work on site where necessary
  • High standards of written communication, verbal, numerical and inductive (ability to deal with ambiguous data) reasoning
  • Proficient in use of setting out equipment an advantage – GPS, robotic total station, levelling equipment
  • High standards of verbal communication
  • Be able to take a lead role in management of sub-contractors and operatives on site
  • Skilled in analysis and problem solving
  • Keen on embracing change
  • Collaborative, and keen to share information, knowledge and skills
  • Keen to seek out new opportunities for learning and career progression and challenges
  • Be able to identify the goals of any project and work steadily towards them
  • Ability to take a structured and methodical approach to any task, identifying priorities and setting deadlines

Knowledge, training and experience.

Computer skills: Good working knowledge of all Microsoft packages is essential

  • Computer literate Word/ Excel/ Outlook/ Power Point
  • AutoCAD experience an advantage
  • Excellent communicator
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight dead lines
  • Minimum 3 years post graduate experience
  • Traffic management and experience of working in urban environment an advantage but not essential
