The purpose of the IT Support officer role is to support the computing needs of employees throughout the business internally and remotely and to provide, develop and maintain information systems to support both the operational and management information needs of the business.

Main Duties:

Be the point of contact and IT support for users and provide excellent customer service to internal customers and assist colleagues when needed

  • To provide advice, installation services and on-going support in relation to desktop computing facilities being used by Staff.
  • To manage the availability of equipment.
  • To install, configure and support distributed computing and data communications equipment throughout the business including set up of computers (laptops/PC’s) plus peripheral hardware (routers, printers, etc)
  • Maintain Networks, Internet Security and Privacy
  • Supporting Windows Servers, Desktops, Networks, Office 365
  • Configuration of Microsoft Server, Exchange, Active Directory
  • Printer Support and Maintenance
  • To liaise with the HR Department and Supervisors setting up workstations and email for all new and existing employees
  • Responsible for organizing and scheduling upgrades and maintenance without business interruption
  • Documenting relevant support ticket/issue information and ensuring that customer communication is handled in a timely manner and in compliance with Service Level Agreements throughout the life cycle of the issue, until it is completely resolved
  • Analysis of software issues reported, identification of known issues where applicable and reporting of known solutions or workarounds to customer within time frame set out by Service Level Agreements
  • Creation and maintenance of knowledge base content for peers and customer use and reference, ensuring that known issues and workarounds are clearly documented in the knowledge base
  • Assist with DSE assessments
  • Assist with GDPR Compliance and documentation to assure the company’s awareness and compliance
  • Perform additional ad hoc tasks as required by the Company. The duties listed are not exhaustive.

 Key Technical Skills (Essential):

  • Knowledge of most of the following: AD, MS Exchange 2010, Windows 7/10, Server 2008/2016/2019, Office 365, Terminal Services, Printing, Sophos AV & Encryption, SonicWall VPN
  • Good knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS) and technologies
  • Experience with ERP and warehousing end user support advantageous


  • 1-2 years’ experience in an IT professional environment


  • Third Level Education Qualification is preferable.
